Many of you have asked how you can help during this process and without a doubt, the single most important thing we can ask is that you pray for us and these specific requests:
1) Pray that there will be no delays with the adoption processing while in China. The two most likely causes of delay would be that Peter's medical exam in Guangzhou shows something unexpected, like a false-positive TB test, or an issue with processing Peter's visa at the US Consulate.
2) Pray for Noah, who will be staying with my trusted and caring parents. This will be the longest we have ever been away from him; please pray for all that entails. I'm sure the mothers in particular who are reading this will understand and appreciate this request.
3) Pray that we would bond quickly with Peter and, despite the language barrier, communicate effectively with him. Pray that, despite his fear at being taken from everything he knows and being thrust into a new situation with people he has never seen who speak a language he does not understand and who eat unfamiliar food, we would be able to meet his needs and provide him comfort and security.
4) Pray for good health as we travel.
5) Pray that God's will be done and that we are free from anxiety as we continue to follow the path we believe He has laid out for us and our family.
